CarControl ("the App") is an OBD-II vehicle diagnostics application that connects to ELM327-compatible adapters over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to read and display real-time vehicle data. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your choices.
The App reads OBD-II PIDs (e.g. engine RPM, speed, fuel level, trouble codes) directly from your vehicle's ECU via a connected ELM327 adapter. This data is used only to display live readings and diagnostics within the App.
If you use the trip logging feature, trip data (distance, duration, timestamps, and related metrics) is stored locally on your device using a local database. This data is not uploaded to any server operated by us.
All vehicle diagnostic data and trip history are processed and stored locally on your device. We do not operate a backend server that receives your vehicle or trip data, and we do not sell or share this data with third parties.
The App does not currently integrate third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. If this changes in a future version, this policy will be updated accordingly and the update date above will be revised.
Trip history and app preferences are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the App removes this locally stored data. We recommend keeping your device secured (e.g. with a lock screen) since diagnostic and trip data reside on the device itself.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
